What's on in Bowen Hills this month
The events worth blocking out, the ones you can skip, and the things we always seem to forget to mention until two days out.
What is on this month, what is not, and what we always seem to forget to mention until it is two days away. The calendar shifts every month. We update this page on the first of each month. Major events get their own pages, smaller ones live on this list.
Confirmed for this month
Saturday food trucks behind the Abbotsford Road panel-beater, every Saturday from 11am. Five regulars, two rotating slots. Full roster on its own page.

Dogs Day Out across the same long weekend, at the grassy block off Bridge Street. Free entry, agility course at 10am, schnauzer parade at noon, lap pool open.
Late-night Korean residency at Old Boy every Friday until end of month. Special menu only available after 9pm. Six dishes, set price, no online bookings.
Tuesday burnt ends permanently back on the menu at Southern Smoke Co. Sell out by 7pm. The full menu update is on its own page.

Tentatively scheduled, may shift
Tiny Dog Festival registration is open. Date confirmed for the last Saturday of the month. Ticket release subject to weather call ten days out.
Live jazz Tuesdays at the wine bar, ongoing through the season. Lineup announced on the day, no advance schedule. Free entry, drinks priced as normal.
Open studios month for the artists in the converted warehouses on the south side of Abbotsford Road. The schedule is loose. Roughly half the studios open on Saturday afternoons through the month. Each studio prints its own opening hours on a piece of A4 taped to the door.
Just finished, in case you missed it
Espresso Martini Festival wrapped last weekend. Tropic Lab won for the second year running. Full leaderboard and the bartenders worth talking to are on the festival's own page.
Rosé and Cheese party sold out within a day. Next round is in early winter. Registration list is at the wine bar, not on a website.
Things that always quietly happen, in the background
The community garden behind the train station does volunteer mornings every Wednesday from 6am. They will give you a spade and tell you what needs doing. Coffee at 8am.
The free yoga in the park happens at 7am on Saturdays from spring through autumn. Unstaffed, instructor-led by donation. The mat library is the wooden box near the bins, take what you need, return when you can.
The local book swap shelf is on the front steps of the bookshop on Brookes Street, twenty-four hours a day. It has been there since 2019 and has not, as far as anyone can tell, ever been raided.
