The fastest way to reach the column is by email. The address is at the bottom of this page. Replies usually go out within forty-eight hours, slower over public holidays and during the two weeks each year when Hannah goes camping with no signal.
What to write in
Tip-offs about new venues, residencies, festivals, markets, and quiet community things that are not getting any coverage are the most useful kind of message. We will not break a story before you are ready. We are happy to wait until you have a soft launch date.
Corrections to existing posts. We get details wrong sometimes. Phone numbers change, opening hours shift, chefs leave. The page-level correction process is described on the about page.
Subscription queries for the Friday newsletter. The newsletter platform handles unsubscribes automatically but if anything is broken, get in touch and we will sort it manually.
Feedback on the column generally, including disagreement. We have, on more than one occasion, been wrong about something fundamental. We would rather know.
What not to write in
Pitches for sponsored content. The column does not run sponsored content. We do not have a media kit. We are sorry, this is a firm line.
Press releases. We do not have a press list. If your venue is launching, we will probably hear about it from an actual local before the press release goes out.
Affiliate-link partnership offers. Same answer as sponsored content. The column does not embed affiliate links anywhere on the site.
Tip jar
If the column has been useful, there is a Ko-fi linked from the email signature. Coffees are appreciated, not expected, never solicited. The tip jar covers the hosting bill and the occasional taxi home from a research session that ran longer than intended.
Postal
There is no postal address. The column does not maintain an office. Hannah works from home and the corner cafe.
